Sephora By OPI "Mermaid To Order" |
Mermaid to Order is a beautiful metallic turquoise. It almost reminds of car paint because of it's glossy metallic finish when dry.
OPI is my go to brand (just in case you couldn't tell) but I thought I would try and branch out a little tiny bit by buying Sephora by OPI. I was really surprised to find out that Sephora By OPI cost almost $3.00 more then just regular OPI polish. I paid almost $12.00CAD for the bottle, where most of the OPI polish, I buy tend to be in the $9.00CAD range.
The first thing I notice is that the brush is much smaller then I'm used to. I'm still not sure if I like it or not. It does make doing my freakish small nails slightly easier but it does take a little longer to paint with.
This polish goes on well but like all metallics' I find that you will see brush strokes to some extent. I found 3 coats worked perfectly to get the required coverage. After the second coat the brush strokes became less visible but could still be detected under strong light. I also found that several bald spots could be seen under strong light. Both these problems may be corrected by adding another coat of polish.
The finish dries to a great shiny frosted metallic look. Being me, I just had to add a clear top coat for added shine.

Looks more blue then green in this pic but that's not the case in person |
Here you can kind of see that it is more green then blue |
Is it just me or is this a really small brush? |
1 clear base coat, 3 coats of Mermaid to Order and no top coat |
Here you can see that it is more green then blue (don't mind my edges, I did this quickly and didn't get a chance to clean them up) |
This looks great on you!
